Why connecting Possibilities?

What do we mean by ›Connecting Possibilities‹

We live in a connected world. Many of the things we do, or interact with, are the result of different types of connections. Some are physical – such as cables –, but some can be less visible, like the ideas and conversations that technology can bring together. At Getronics, we believe possibilities are endless, and it’s our ability to bring these together, with a purpose, which can unleash a great power for the benefit of a person, or even an entire community.

Connecting Possibilities is the opportunity to find those elements that today may seem disconnected and bring them together. It can also be a way of solving a problem you know is affecting someone. It is a reason to look back and reflect on what can be changed, what can be improved, or what can benefit from a web platform, with a global reach and the support of leading IT company like Getronics.

How-Would-You-Connect-Possibilities

About the competition

Connecting Possibilities is an idea-based competition where we invite students from selected universities to design and create a digital platform (a website).

Our objective is to encourage creativity, while giving you the opportunity to network and learn from business professionals from different areas, and allowing you to bring your great idea to the real world.

The phases

Phase 01: Brainstorming

During these phase, we will collect all possible ideas in search of that next great idea.

Submit your idea of a new website via an online form, consider providing just enough detail to sell your idea (theme, objectives, type of content, your audience, etc.)

*Remember to consider your ability to develop a prototype in a 3-week period (the 2nd phase)

From the pool of submissions, Getronics will select three winning ideas to go to the 2nd phase.

Phase 02: Prototype

During these phase, finalists will need to design a prototype of their idea in 3 weeks.

Selected ideas will have access to a mentor, as well as support from experts in the chosen topic.

The prototype should consider design, look & feel, structure of the website and initial content.

PEN

Phase 03: The Pitch

After 3 weeks, you will be asked to submit your prototype to be invited to the ›Dragons‹ – our panel jury who will decide the final winner.

In no more than 10 minutes, you will have to explain why your website is the best for connecting possibilities.

The ›Dragons‹ will make the decision and announce the winners on that same day.

Following the announcement, Getronics will continue to develop the winning idea with their pool of digital experts, maintaining close contact with the winning team towards the launch date.

Who can participate?

  • Participants must be following a bachelor’s or master’s program at one of our selected universities
  • You must be 18+ years old
  • This is a team competition (minimum 2, and maximum 4, students)

Meet the judges

The great ideas reaching the last phase will be evaluated by a panel of ›Dragons‹, experts in areas like marketing, technology and engineering, as well as by business executives in Getronics. The ›Dragons‹ will evaluate creativity, viability of the idea, and its fit with our company values. Scroll down for the evaluation criteria.
